About Us

The Jones-Pearson Funeral Home was established in 1956 by Harold and LaVonne Jones. Since that time this locally owned and operated funeral home has been serving the community for more years than any other in the area. Jones-Pearson Funeral Home moved to its present location at 608 Park Street in 1985.

The building features the largest chapel in our area and can handle seating for over 300 people. It has two separate visitation chapels which allows for greater flexibility in providing services to meet the needs of the families we serve. A reception area and coffee lounge with a child's play area lends to a homey comfort and warmth to our facility. Above all, it is our distinct objective to make each family we serve feel like part of our family.

We attempt to provide much more for our families than the typical funeral home. From our personalized memorial candles to the laminated copies of the obituaries and memorial folders, we work hard to make the funeral an accurate, personalized reflection of a life lived, a life that has touched the lives of many in a special way. Our work does not end with the funeral. We provide as much follow-up care as possible, from handling many estate matters to providing a trained bereavement counselor and sponsoring educational seminars. We also have a lending library and welcome any opportunity to speak to groups as well. We are here to serve you for years to come.

Tim and Cathy Pearson along with their five children Joshua, Hannah, Leah, Caleb and Jonah, purchased the funeral home in 1993. Tim has been a licensed funeral director since 1980. He has continued his education in bereavement counseling training, suicide survivor education, eye enucleation certification and more. Tim has made serving the people in the Park Rapids area a life long goal. In addition to funeral home responsibilities, Tim is also active in Faith Baptist Church. He serves as President of the Hubbard County American Cancer Society, which has earned recognition for being one of the top units in the state. He also serves as President of the Greenwood Cemetery Association, is active in the Park Rapids Lions Club where he is currently an officer, is a member of the Park Rapids Rotary and an ambassador for the Park Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.
