ELLEN L. PATSON September 2, 1921-November 1, 2014 Ellen L. Patson, age 93 of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Menahga, MN, passed into eternal life on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home with her loved ones by her side. Ellen was born to Wilho and Ailie Kalenius on September 2, 1921, in Mahtowa, Minnesota. She graduated from Barnum High School with the Class of 1939. Ellen then ventured to Minneapolis, MN where she attended the University of Minnesota and studied Home Economics. On December 26, 1942 she was united in marriage to Elmer Patson. They made their home in Menahga, Minnesota and in June of 1949 they moved to Anchorage, Alaska. They raised 5 children. Ellen was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. Ellen is survived by her husband, Elmer, of 72 years; five children: daughter, Phyllis (Don) Isaacs of Hibbing, MN, son, Rodney (Beverly) Patson of Anchorage; daughter, Arlene (Ron) Bishop of Anchorage, AK; son, Wayne (Judy) Patson of Appomattox, VA; daughter, Nancy Patson of Anchorage, AK; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Kalenius of Pine City, MN, and Inez (Steve) Stevens of Livonia, MI;. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Earl; two sisters; and one brother. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN with Ray Kovala officiating.
