JEROLD EUGENE "Jerry" GUSTAFSON August 16, 1938 - August 10, 2014 Jerold Eugene "Jerry" Gustafson, age 75, a long time Osage area resident, peacefully passed into eternity on Sunday, August 10, 2014 while a patient at St. Joseph's Area Hospital in Park Rapids. Jerry was born on August 16, 1938 in Rawson, ND to Oscar and Ella (Ask) Gustafson. He attended public school in Mayville, North Dakota and then went on to study to become a professional millwright. On October 20, 1962, Jerry was married to Anita Marie Belter at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Shakopee, MN. This union was blessed with one son, Eric. Jerry's work as a millwright brought him to many cities throughout the country. He worked in places as far away as Alaska and throughout the lower 48 states. Jerry enjoyed following NASCAR events, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a man of faith and treasured worshipping at the Grace Community Church in Osage. He also loved his dog, Snowball. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Eric of Osage; his grand daughter, Chelsey Loveless; three brothers: Jerome Gustafson of Aurora, CO, Gordon (Arlene) Gustafson of Aurora, CO, and Larry Gustafson of Escondido, CA; four sisters: Dolly Dwyer of Great Falls, MT., Dorothy Woods of Winterhaven, FL, Avis (Mel) Steinward of Longmont, CO and Monica Miller of Las Vegas, NV; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jerold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anita in 2000 and three brothers: Leroy, Clifford and Mylo. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Grace Community Church in Osage with Pastor Paul McKibben officiating. The casket bearers will be Charlie Marquardt, Will Nordin, Dick Moore, David Lymburner, Marvin James and Conrad Bruce. The honorary casket bearers will be John "Fizzer" Hergott, Byron Oja, John Wagner, Tom Mettert, Darlene Wettels and Sheila Jacob. Interment will be made in the Riverside Cemetery at Osage. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
